What Are Some Healthy Coping Mechanisms?

Having mental health problems can lead into obtaining anxiety disorders. Depending on your problems, they can develop into many conditions. Some noticeable conditions are a sense of dread/fear wherever, sleep disturbances, fatigue, irritability, racing heart, and a decline in performance and interests. There are a few ways that can help cope with those conditions. There are times with you need to just cope in the moment, ways that can help are to do mindful exercises, such as taking deep breaths or something simple like stretching. Some people like to create a pattern of words and repeat; an example of this would be someone reciting pie. Finding something to put your mind on can help distract how you’re feeling. But when the conditions are almost daily, setting up a short daily routine can help you find ways around the conditions. Some examples could be taking a short walk: it could be around your house, the park, your favorite place, or somewhere you find comfortable. Find something in the day to look forward to, it can be that one thing you really like, or just something simple like what to eat.
